Rehabilitation at Chestnut Hill Lodge Health and Rehabilitation

Physical therapy will assess a resident’s strength, balance, and range of motion in order to improve their functional mobility and ambulation. Occupational therapy will address individual deficits in relation to activities of daily life. Speech therapy will look not only at a resident’s speech and linguistic skills but also at their ability to swallow to find their optimal diet.

Chestnut Hill Lodge Health and Rehabilitation in Wyndmoor, PA offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language therapy as well as other services. Our staff has many years of experience not just in geriatrics,  but also in outpatient, home, hospital, and pediatric settings. Our therapists have worked here from 1 to 11 yrs. Our therapists are trained to help residents restore their functional mobility, compensate for lost abilities, or adapt their environment to meet their needs.

Our staff works with residents to maximize their functional abilities in order to prepare for either their return home or adjustment to our facility. We address both their physical and cognitive needs. Therapy can include training self-management skills to maintain health and safety or training for caregivers.

We enable residents to maximize their participation in the roles and activities that are necessary or meaningful to them. This might mean finding ways for individuals to engage in recreational activities that they have always enjoyed.

Our therapy programs at Chestnut Hill Lodge Health and Rehabilitation address a variety of diagnoses including complex disease management, orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary needs, pain management, positioning and splinting needs, dementia, dysphagia, speech language needs, and fall prevention.
